Impact of TGF B1 level and single nucleotide polymorphism in gall bladder inflammation
Abstract
The current study was conducted to investigate the association of TGF B1levels in serum and polymorphism in cholecystitis patients. The study include 100 blood samples collected from patient undergoing cholecystectomy at the general teaching Hilla Hospital from September 2016 to June 2017. Tgf-B1 concentration pointed significantly increase in the patients compared with control group with mean value (82. 2pg/ml) for chronic cholecystitis patient and (46.1pg/ml) for acute cholecystitis patient with  high significant differences between patient and control. p=0.007. The results revealed increased level of TGF-B1 concentration in patient had cholesterol stone with value (65.33 pg/ml) followed pigment stone(60.11pg/ml) and mixed stone(27.62 pg/ml). Single nucleotide polymorphism of TGF-B1 (-869 T/C showed high appearance of TC heterozygous With (64) (75.2%) than others genotypes , TT and CC homozygous and with (13)( 15%) (8)(9.4%) respectively .there is no significant differences in alleles frequency with severity of disease while the genotype association of TGF-B1 appeared significant differences ( p=0.04, OR=4.56) for acute infection in over dominate model compare with chronic ,cholesterol, pigmented and mixed stone patients shows high appearance of TC heterozygous than other genotypes.Â
